  1. Kia ora Liam, this is Kieryn from the Summer Learning Journey.
Thank you for participating in the Summer Learning Journey and sharing with us a time when you, or someone else you know was brave.
Presenting a speech can be a very daunting task, so it is great to hear how your brother was able to be brave enough to go ahead and do it anyway!
What was his speech about, and who was he presenting it to?
Have you ever given a speech? If so, did you feel nervous at all?
A time when I was feeling brave was at Movie World on the Gold Coast of Australia. There was a ride there called the Scooby Doo Roller Coaster and I was petrified of roller coasters (and had never been on one before). My whole family was going on it, and they were really supportive of me, with my mum even offering not to go on the ride so I wouldn’t feel left out.
I decided that I didn’t want to miss out on such a fun, unique experience so I was extremely brave and hopped on the ride.
It was absolutely terrifying at first, but once I realised that nothing bad would happen to me I really began to enjoy it. Once the ride was over I went on it again and again, and even went on other roller coasters which I had been to scared to go on in the first place.
Have you ever been on a roller coaster? If so, were you scared or did you enjoy it?
    Nga mihi
