Aboriginal Australians have lived on the continent for over 50,000 years.
Aboriginal Australians are all related to a common ancestor who was a member of a distinct population that emerged on the mainland about 50,000 years ago.

Papuan people
About 840 distinct languages are spoken in Papua New Guinea.
There are a few thousand Muslims.
